Welcome to the Family Camping Planner. Our goal is to give you all the information you need to plan a wonderful camping trip. Don't worry if you are a newbie.  We have plenty of  camping articles and camping resources to help you on your way.  If you are more a "seasoned" camper, feel free to poke around and see if you don't learn something.

No family camping trip is complete without a checklist.  A checklist will keep you from having to turn around when you're half-way to your destination - very annoying!  Or having to purchase things you already own once you get there because you forgot to pack them.

There is nothing better than camping in the outdoors especially if you have kids. Kids love being outside and camping with kids is the ideal way to keep them occupied as well as learning skills that will help them all through their lives.

These days it's becoming harder to find affordable vacations for families on a budget.  With a tent and a few supplies you can be on your way to a great family camping adventure.  Campgrounds now have plenty of amenities for active families such as swimming, hiking, fishing, boating, playgrounds and putt-putt to name a few.  And the prices for a camping site are much less than staying at a motel. 

There are even campgrounds located near most of the amusement parks and family attractions thoughout the country.  Thinking of going to Six Flags but can't afford the cost of lodging?  Check out the area - you will find there are quite a few campgrounds waiting for you to set up camp.

Or if you are looking for a less "rustic" camping experience why not try RV camping.  Recreation Vehicles offer families who want the camping experience but aren't used to tent camping an excellent alternative.  Just pull up to the campsite, make a few adjustments and you are good to go.
